Privacy

What is stored

• Your account. Name, email address, and either a hashed password or an identifier from Google or GitHub if you sign in that way. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
• Your study activity. The attempts you start, the answers you save, which questions you flag or bookmark, your flashcard review schedule, and your scores.
• Session records. A signed session token, its expiry, and the IP address and browser user agent recorded when you sign in.
• Reports you send. If you report a problem with a question, the report and your account are stored together so it can be followed up.

Where it is stored

In a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon, and served from Vercel. Sign-in is handled in the application itself rather than by a third-party identity service, unless you choose Google or GitHub.

What is not done with it

ihateexams does not sell your data, does not run advertising, and does not include third-party analytics or tracking scripts. Your answers are visible to you; staff accounts can see aggregate content quality, not your individual attempts.

Source material

Practice questions are prepared from study material that is reviewed before publication. Original source images are kept private and are never served to learners. Where a source image contained a person’s name or a booking reference, that text is removed during import rather than published.

Removing your data

Ask the site operator to delete your account. Deleting the account removes your sessions, attempts, answers, bookmarks and flashcard progress with it.
